Overview of Cu Chi Tunnels And Mekong Delta Private Tour 1 Day From Ho Chi Minh City

Journey takes 1.45 hours west towards the Cambodian border. Ongoing way to the Cu Chi tunnels, we can see local life in the area, both past and present. Going with Cu Chi Tunnels And Mekong Delta Private Tour 1 Day, we will learn about their lives, culture, and customs and get an insight into the recent past through local eyes.

Built by local fighters during the Indochina conflict, the Cu Chi Tunnels And Mekong Delta Private Tour 1 Day served as a base from which the Viet Cong could operate from close to the Southern Vietnamese capital. For this Ho Chi Minh city tour, leave the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City to explore one of the relics from one of the most significant local historical events in recent memory.

What do we see on Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Private Tour 1 Day

Continue on to the Cu Chi Tunnels And Mekong Delta Private Tour 1 Day, the location of the tunnels was of significant strategic importance: they are at the end of the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail, and within striking distance of the southern Vietnam capital. Initial construction started in 1948 when the Viet Minh required somewhere to hide from French air attacks, and by 1965, the tunnel complex was estimated to consist of 200 km of tunnels. It included, hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchens, and sleeping quarters. Life was difficult for the inhabitants, and to protect against outside intruders, booby traps were laid throughout the complex.

Your local guide will take you on a fascinating tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels And Mekong Delta Private Tour 1 Day, where you will learn more about the conditions the people lived in, the hardships they faced, and the amazing ingenuity employed to maintain life in the tunnels. We walk past huge bomb craters – evidence of the heavy bombing campaigns in the region during the Indochina conflict, discover hidden entrances right beneath your feet, wander past tiny little chimneys under the ground that dispersed smoke from the underground kitchens, sample some of the simple cuisine that local fighters would have survived on, and have an opportunity to venture into the tunnels and explore the complex.

Traditional lunch at local restaurant in Mekong delta – My Tho after over one and half hour bus drive passing rice field. Then take a boat on the Mekong River to the Unicorn Island. On the way, you can see Dragon, Phoenix and Turtle Islands. You are going to enjoy the Southern Vietnamese Folk Music; it is performed by the local people who are living on the Island. After visiting the Coconut Candy workshop, enjoying honey tea and the amazing rowing boat trip on the small canal, you should not miss. Boat trip back to My Tho City. Our trip to the Cuchi tunnel and Mekong Delta river tour was marvelous! From booking to the actual day of the tour was seamless. Luc, our tour guide, was quick to answer our queries. Not only was Luc friendly and accommodating, but he was also very learned about the history of Vietnam and the rest of Asia making his comments both very incisive and entertaining. My family truly enjoyed the tour. Thanks, Luc!

What a day!
We couldn’t have asked for a more accomadating company..
So attentive.
Now… we chose to do a private tour of both the Cu Chi tunnel and Mekong Delta
This meant we Had our guide (Luc and tuan)
Exceptional knowledge all to ourselves
This made the tour very personal.
I highly recommend this tour to any age group.
We are so happy we had the opportunity to do it with our children aged 12 & 10.
At the end of the tunnel tour you have a opportunity to shoot a gun if you wish
( at your own expense)
We did and loved it!
Then onto the Mekong stopping along the way for a fabulous lunch included in the tour cost.
Once at the port (My tho)
We took a boat ride along the Mekong Delta
Just fabulous!!!
We stopped at 3 islands to understand how the people on the Mekong live.
Each having there own special ability to trade.

We tried lots of special delicacies along the way.
We also had a horse drawn cart ride,
Private folk singing followed by a canoe ride along the Delta.

We as a family all agree that the day couldn’t have gone any better.

This of cause was made this way by
Our fabulous guides

Thanks so much!

Now onto Hoi An.

I did this tour having only been on a motorbike once before so I was a little nervous. But it was so much fun to be driven through the city and then through the country side on the back of a bike. The tour at Cu Chi was very informative and Luc was great at explaining the things we looked at and was a great photographer too! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Ho Chi Minh City.

Bruce was an amazing tour guide with very good English and a history of Vietnam people, culture and the sites we visited. Picked up from our hotel promptly and went to Cu Chi Tunnels then Mee King Delta. Driver Tahm was very good with smooth driving. Plenty of hospitality with cold water throughout trip. Meal was very nice. Would recommend Bruce as a guide and great conversationalist for a long 11 hour day. Money well spent with plenty of opportunity to learn about the local culture and meet many people.
